"I have need of the sky. I have business with the grasses. I will up and away at the break of day to where the hawk is wheeling lone and high and where the clouds drift by."   - Richard Hovey, 1894-1961

I'm ready

The Annual Meeting two weekends ago, that I'd been working on for ages, went really well. Afterwards, I slept for a couple of days and then remembered that I was getting married on Saturday. So, then I was busy getting ready for that for a week. And now, everything else is ready. All I have to do is enjoy it - and to do that is going to involve lots of letting go and letting HP take care of things, trusting that things are unfolding as they need to, and not taking on other people's stuff. Their stuff, if and whatever it may be, is not mine. I don't have to fix it. I just have to take care of myself. I've started.

So far I've -
-had my legs waxed
-gotten a mani-pedi
-taken today off
-had a facial
-had a reiki session
-took a cab back in the rain
-took an hour nap
-talked with a good friend over tea
-and made a list of other ways that I can take care of myself, including: take a lavendar oil bath, nap more, read Al-anon literature, call Al-anon friends, drink tea and water with lemon, breathe deeply, pray, say serenity prayer, repeat the first three steps, leave a voicemail, hug myself, get an extra long hug from a friend, let myself cry, count to ten, nap, chocolate, yoga, drink water.

Jolene just called. Her flight got in early! So, I will see her in less than an hour. She is the first to arrive. I think we'll go for sushi. I could use some seaweed salad and miso soup right about now...

I bet blowing bubbles on your roof would be a good way to take care of yourself. Watching beautiful, colorful bubbles float off into the San Fransisco sunset sounds very calming to me.
